The Board of Trustees of Simpson Memorial Library wish to extend their heartfelt sympathy to the family of Kevin Howell, long-time Carmel town manager. Katie Howell has suggested that contributions in Kevin's memory may be sent to the library. A book fund will be created in his memory. Checks may be mailed to P.O. Box 186, Carmel, ME 04419

 

Please do not come in if you do not feel well.

Hours:  10AM-6 Pm Tuesday and Thursday, 9 AM-1PM Saturday

Next Bake Sale:  February 17, 2024, 9AM -2PM at Ye Ole General Store, Rte 2, Carmel

Adult Book Club:  Next  meeting Tuesday, February 6 at 3:00 pm.  Each month, a new book is read and discussed.  Next book for March will be: "In Pieces" by Sally Field  All welcome, join anytime. You may pick up the February book, "Boys in the Boat" at the library.

WANT TO KNIT or CROCHET?

The craft group meets on Thursday afternoon starting at 1.00.  If you just want to chat or need help, come join them. Everyone is welcome.

 

Book Donations

Donations of 8-10 books or a small box or bag are accepted whenever we are open.  Due to space constraints, please contact us PRIOR to bringing in larger donations.  Call 207-848-7145 or come in and see us.

RETURNABLE BOTTLES/CANS

Please do not crush bottles and cans as they are thrown into the trash at the recyclers.

We thank all of you who donate. The proceeds help the library to continue to provide its services.

 

HOME BOUND SERVICES

If you or someone you know if home bound and needs books, audio books, jigsaw puzzles or other library materials, call the library at 848-7145 to arrange service.

The annual book and plant sale is held the second Friday and Saturday of May.  Donations are accepted year round.

The Campaign for Simpson Memorial Library

Proud of Our Past ~ Building Our Future is a capital campaign that supports the construction of a new addition and renovations to the existing library building located on Plymouth Road in 
Carmel.
