Summer Reading 2025
"Summer Book Bingo" is our 2025 children's summer reading program. Registration for children age 4-entering 5th grade starts June 1, 2025. Once again we will offer take and make bags weekly with a craft to make, a book picked out by the child each week, reading logs, games, literacy activities, and Book Bingo! Coins will be earned for books read, crafts done, and book bingo activities!. Program will strart on June 22 and run weekly til August 1st with Fourth of July week off. The Grande Finale this year will be August 16th when we have a Magic Show - "Reading is Magic", ice cream sundae party and the traditional prize store! This year there will be 2 grand prizes drawn for those who complete the whole Book Bingo card! Sign up by calling, emailing or Facebook Messaging the library. Again this year the program is graciously underwritten by patron Margo Jackisch.

New Little Free Library at the Rec Field Playground
During summer 2024, a new Little Free Library was installed at the Five Road Rec Field Playground. Community members including Matthew and Kari Dorrbecker (Matt built the library), Pam Raulinaitis, Amanda Benwell, and others worked together with the Town of Carmel to make this happen. Books are supplied by community members and the Simpson Library. This will be open seasonally in spring, summer and fall.
